LATIS supports and promotes the culture change coming from the modernising of the planning agenda and the publication of the Common Statement. The Common Statement is a wide-ranging package of improvements to make Scotland’s planning system “leaner and fitter”. It reinforces the need for us to be pro-active in seeking out opportunities for LATIS to be used in informing the policy process.

As part of our support, we are collecting and providing a range of planning data and are in continued consultation with key agencies (both Scotland and UK wide) and the Planning Authorities in the coordination of planning data collection.

We also provide advice on development plans. This includes a provision of 'baseline' information suitable for the appraisal of development plans.
